Competing To Win On Any Level

Australian sports are amongst the most competitive in the world. Australian athletes take their sports very seriously and they always give 100 when they are out on the field. It does not matter what they are doing, they will always be completely committed and that commitment is always on show when you watch Aussie Rules Football or soccer in Australia.

Along with rugby, these are two very popular sports. Aussie rules football is sort of a combination of rugby and football. It is a lot more physical, very quick and extremely exciting. For this sport, competing to win at any level is difficult. You have to be a complete athlete, with speed, strength and skill. There are sports where you can get away if you do not have one of these three attributes, but not in Aussie rules. You must be fast enough to get away from your marker, strong enough to make a crunching tackle and skillful enough to pick out the right pass or kick to a teammate. When you have all these attributes you will be the perfect player.

In soccer, competing to win at any level is always challenging. Australia’s soccer league has been improving over the past few years. The national team has always been good, reaching the World Cup a couple of times and performing well in general. However, most of those players used to go abroad. Now there are quite a few who stay home and other internationals also come and play in Australia. Most of these internationals are past their prime, but they are still very much welcome and add a glamor to the league. Recently Liverpool legend and England striker Robbie Fowler joined the league and made a good impression in a season and a half. This shows the level you have to be to compete in Australian sports.
